Valerie School of Dancing​

The Ronnie Award was introduced in 2012 after the sad loss of Veronica Hogan fondly known to the school as 'Ronnie' or 'Rottie'!

She had been a member of the school for as many years as any of us can remember and had not only been in our Adult Class but also helped in many other ways.

She had walked with us for three years in the Richmond 'Race for Life' against cancer, but sadly lost her own fight against the disease in May 2012.

Her daughter walked the 'Race for Life' in her place with us in June 2012 and I promised her that every year we would award a trophy in her mums memory to a pupil in each of the Saturday Classes. A truly lovely lady, and a great friend. I miss her and think of her so much and have some wonderful memories that I will always cherish.

 

The Award will be given to a pupil that is a attends class regularly, is polite, helpful, a good class member, wears uniform, and has achieved a good personal standard during the year. (All the attributes that Ronnie would have adhered to.)
